The home is located in the extraordinary Animas Valley near Trimble Crossing and Durango Hot Springs, just a mile south of Hermosa. Durango is 8 miles to the south and Purgatory Resort is 17 miles north on Highway 550, known as the Million Dollar Highway. Mesa Verde National Park and Silverton are under an hour's drive in opposite directions. A boutique grocery store and wine shop is a mile away at Trimble Crossing as well as a full-service gas station just a mile north. You are never far from anywhere at Durango Valley View.

Durango Valley View sits on a level 1/2 acre property bisected by the Animas Irrigation Ditch and is surrounded on two sides by a private preserve. A backyard stamped concrete patio with seating is just off the main floor bedroom overlooking the level, grassy yard. The drought-tolerant grass is watered conservatively by an automated sprinkler system. Out front, guests will find the stone slab patio surrounded by a small berm of sitting stones and offers a pleasant view of the great red rock, yellow chamisa, and vibrant red cliffs of the Animas valley.

Durango is a true western town at the crossroads of the open, high desert to the south and impressive, towering mountains to the north. The region is surrounded by National Forest and Wilderness lands that are filled with natural surface trails. There are several rivers and lakes within an hour's drive from Durango Valley View as well as opportunities to hike, mountain bike, kayak, ski and fish. There are several scenic, mountainous 4x4 loops and an infinite supply of beautiful vistas around every bend. Whatever your passion, adventure awaits in Southwest Colorado.

We offer good wi-fi, too, in case you need to stay connected during your trip but we hope there’s plenty of time for exploration and enjoyment. Durango has a regional airport (DRO) that serves the entire Four Corners region so you can fly in or out with short notice. The airport is served by several major airlines. We are partial to road-tripping and the views are spectacular as you make your way to Durango Valley View.
